35th LD Nominating Convention Results

The 2010 Nominating Convention of the Washington 35th Legislative District Democrats was held in Shelton this last Saturday, April 17. Here's a quick update regarding the nomination and endoresement results.

Senator Tim Sheldon was both nominated and endorsed as our representative in the State Senate.

Representative Kathy Haigh was both nominated and endorsed as our Position 1 representative in the State House.

Representative Fred Finn was both nominated and endorsed as our Position 2 representative in the State House.

Nancy Frank, Chair of the Washington 35th Legislative District Democrats, extended this message of gratitude to Kathy Haigh, Fred Finn, and Tim Sheldon:
The 35th Legislative District Democrats congratulate each of you for your significant achievements and successes on our behalf during the recent contentious legislative session.

Fitzgerald once wrote that "genius is the ability to hold two conflicting thoughts in your mind at the same time." In this past session, you each faced many situations in which you had to weigh two, or even more, competing values at the same time. Each day you faced unimaginably conflicting choices, choices frequently followed by criticisms from those left wanting and those who assailed not your decision, but your character.

Remembering that "It requires less character to discover the faults of others, than to tolerate them." (J. Petit Senn), please accept our gratitude with the knowledge that we recognize your hard work on behalf of the people of the 35th LD.
Precinct Committee Officers also chose to endorse Patty Murray, in her race to be re-elected to the U.S. Senate, and Congressmen Norm Dicks, Jay Inslee, and Adam Smith.

Many thanks to the Precinct Committee Officers and all other members of the 35th LD who were in attendance.
